Pricing for murals usually depends on the size and complexity of the project. Each individual project has details which need to be factored into the final price. The amount of detail and personal wishes from the client combined with the size can alter the cost. When possible the artist will give a final price after discussing the project with the client. Many projects can change during the painting process and sometimes more ideas grow as the painting evolves. If the project has questions going into the painting process an hourly rate may be used.
For businesses there are a few options which can be used to reduce the cost of a mural. Many times the artist has created a mural which incorporates a business logo. These logos could be the business the mural was painted for, or quite often they can find a local or well known businesses to sponsor the mural. This approach can be used to cover some or maybe all the cost of creating a mural. Please look through the mural galleries for examples of businesses sponsoring specific murals.
The first visit to meet with a client is always free of charge. This is used to see if the clients vision meets the criteria needed to complete the mural. Once the ideas are discussed and the project agreed upon the artist and client will plan a time table from start to finish. Some murals will need reference work, multiple sketches, or finding a comfortable period of time to finish the project. Murals outside the Connecticut area may incur transportation or lodging expenses which will be discussed and agreed upon by both parties as part of the contract.
